Breeze Spells and Bridegrooms

by Sarah Wallace

Description

In a world where the air itself can be coaxed into magic, a young spellworker and a reluctant bridegroom are drawn into a delicate bargain—one that promises love, power, and peril in equal measure. As shifting breezes carry secrets between hidden courts and dangerous covenants, they must navigate enchantments, social expectations, and the cost of bending fate. Blending romantic tension with spellcraft and intrigue, this story explores themes of consent, identity, and the difference between destiny and choice. With vivid atmosphere and brisk, character-driven momentum, the authors deliver a fresh take on fantasy romance—where every gust can change the rules.

dnf at 14%. i was sold a cozy fantasy romance, but ended up with a bizarre coercive bully romance. 30 year old meek and hapless roger is forced to partner up with his same-age childhood wyn(and still today) bully on a revolutionary social policy to improve the lives of all magic children. wyn is a horrific tormentor for roger in every way fathomable; classism, verbal bullying, constant insults. and roger, meek as he is, outs wyn to the whole of the country in a gossip column—granted homosexuality isn't frowned upon in this world, wyn's private relationship partner's name is outed in the newspaper. and from what other reviews say, it sound like somehow a newspaper gossip article coerces them to get married? how are these 30 year old men acting like prep school boys? how are they supposed to actually fall in love with DECADES of bullying and outing between them????
