Remote Control

Description

In near-future Ghana, Sankofa—young, unmoored, and carrying a power she never chose—moves from town to town in search of a lost treasure that may explain who she is and why she’s been left behind. When her “remote control” ability flares to life, it draws danger as well as possibility, forcing her to confront the cost of survival and the weight of inherited grief. Blending African futurism with intimate, character-driven suspense, this novella explores identity, agency, and the ways trauma can echo through generations. With Nnedi Okorafor’s signature lyrical immediacy and world-building that feels both mythic and urgent, *Remote Control* delivers a fast, propulsive journey through power, memory, and the future’s hidden machinery.
