Description
Gary Boone—known to himself as Goon—is a seventh grader determined to become a stand-up comedian, even though his classmates usually treat him as the class clown rather than a real talent. When he enters the school talent show, his dream puts him in the spotlight and challenges him to discover what it truly means to be funny, confident, and accepted. With Louis Sachar’s trademark humor and heartfelt insight, this lively novel explores friendship, self-esteem, perseverance, and the courage to keep pursuing your passion when the audience isn’t laughing.
