Description
Binti, a young Himba woman, defies tradition and her family's expectations to accept a coveted spot at Oomza University, the galaxy's most prestigious institution. Her journey aboard a starship is violently interrupted when the vessel is attacked by the Meduse, a mysterious alien race with a deep-seated animosity towards the university. Forced to confront prejudice and danger, Binti must draw upon her unique heritage, her family's teachings, and her own burgeoning strength to survive and potentially bridge the chasm between warring species. This powerful novella explores themes of cultural identity, displacement, and the courage it takes to forge one's own path in a vast and often hostile universe.

I absolutely loved this, was such a fun read and I love how mathematics is magic, it makes so much sense but is incomprehensible to me
this has to be one of the most unique short stories i’ve ever read man. so fucking cool. really impactful takes on otherism and interplanetary racism with realistic depictions of the violence between different peoples and the subsequent blood feuds.
