Description
In Tiankawi, a gleaming refuge built above polluted waters, the fathomfolk—sirens, seawitches, kelpies, and kappas—survive beneath the city’s surface while humans look down from towers and aerial walkways. For half-siren Mira, rising to captain of the border guard offers a chance to protect her people and earn respect from those who underestimate them. But when Nami, a water dragon and fathomfolk princess, is exiled under Mira’s watch, a simmering conflict turns explosive after extremists sabotage a festival, triggering a brutal crackdown on fathomfolk rights. Blending East Asian mythology with ocean-folk wonder, this debut fantasy explores power, prejudice, loyalty, and the dangerous cost of rebellion as Mira and Nami confront whether change can be forced—or must be chosen.
