Description
In a near-future New Zealand grappling with environmental collapse, a clandestine collective known as Birnam Wood operates in the shadows, guerrilla gardening on forgotten land to feed the needy. Their precarious existence is thrown into chaos when they accept funding from a mysterious American billionaire, whose true motives are as opaque as the smog-choked skies. As Mira Bunting, the group's founder, navigates this dangerous alliance, she uncovers a web of ambition and deceit that threatens not only Birnam Wood but the very future they are trying to cultivate. This electrifying novel explores the intoxicating allure of power, the corrosive nature of greed, and the devastating consequences that can arise when noble intentions collide with ruthless pragmatism.
