Description

In a Senegal grappling with the complexities of post-colonial identity, a young woman from a privileged French-educated background finds herself drawn to a man from a more traditional Muslim family. Their burgeoning love faces immense pressure from deeply ingrained cultural expectations and the starkly different worlds their families inhabit. As societal divides threaten to pull them apart, Mireille and Ousmane must navigate prejudice and tradition to forge a future together. This poignant novel explores themes of love, cultural conflict, and the search for identity in a rapidly changing society.
