Description
In a world where power is measured by what you can command—and what you can survive—an unexpected spark ignites a chain of events no one can contain. As alliances fracture and hidden truths surface, a determined protagonist is drawn into a struggle against forces that thrive on disorder, testing loyalty, courage, and the cost of choosing the “right” side. Blending high-stakes adventure with dark, imaginative worldbuilding, this story explores themes of chaos versus control, the nature of sacrifice, and how fear can be weaponized. With fast momentum and vivid, cinematic scenes, it delivers a compelling journey through moral ambiguity and escalating conflict that keeps readers turning pages.

Alright so if I could give this book less than 1 star I would. I'm writing this at only halfway through and I dont even want to read the 2nd half.

First off, there's a warning at the beginning of the book calling it dark, sexy, intense and you probably won't like the main characters but that's cuz you have to watch them grow or some other garbage. As far as I can tell, these characters don't grow, they just go through some random personality changes that don't make a lot of sense. And I've read so many more things that do dark, sexy, and intense that are actually enjoyable to read. With actual character growth. With characters that you actually like.

This book needs to come with some trigger warnings of verbal, physical and sexual abuse, dubious consent, some content warnings for virginity kink, misinformation about how sex is supposed to work and this is all just halfway through the book.

I'll go ahead and say spoilers after this so if you don't wanna know you can skip.

Guys this book isn't even good smut. It was reccomended as a good "spicy" book and it doesn't even accomplish that. I spent half of it crying from how ridiculous it is and the other half trying going what the fuck is actually going on right now.

One of the first things you learn about our main character Aria is that she's a virgin, and this is apparently the most important thing about her to any other character for the first half of the book. The whole story perpetuates the idea that giving away your virginity is some big step you have to take before becoming a woman and that it's normal to bleed and for your first time to hurt. That the hymen is something that only ever breaks the first time you have penetrative sex.

All that is a crock of bullshit. Your first time should not hurt. You should not bleed. It should not be painful. Your partner should be making sure that you are comfortable and enjoying it.

I'm halfway through this book and I dont even want to finish it. It's not a well out together story, the pacing is all over the place, the writing is clunky and word choice is trying too hard to sound like they know more words.

If you want dark and spicy, theres better options than this.

If I actually finish the book I'll add on to this review. But my advice? Find something else to read
