Description
Jack is fed up with the bossy, storybook narrator who insists he follow the “proper” steps of a classic fairy tale. When he’s ordered to trade away his beloved cow, toss magic beans out the window, and climb an enormous beanstalk, Jack pushes back—turning the familiar adventure into a chaotic, self-determined quest. With humor and a clever twist on storytelling itself, this book explores themes of agency, resistance to authority, and how narratives shape what we expect to happen. Perfect for young readers who love fairy tales and meta-fun, it delivers Josh Funk’s signature playful voice and imaginative, kid-friendly wit.
