Description
This coming-of-age novel offers a deeply personal glimpse into contemporary Northern Nigeria, seen through the eyes of a young man named Dantala. After a series of unfortunate events, Dantala finds himself living in a mosque, where his initiation into adulthood is shaped by harsh realities rather than mere rituals. The narrative unflinchingly explores themes of violence, disappointment, and the complex tapestry of life in the region, presenting a perspective far more intimate than any newspaper report. Through Dantala's journey, the book delves into the multifaceted experiences of its people, challenging simplistic perceptions of Northern Nigeria.
