Description

In this electrifying debut, Natalie Wee explores the liminal spaces of identity, weaving together personal histories with the echoes of folklore and pop culture. The poems navigate the complexities of queerness, diaspora, and inherited grief, transforming memory into a fluid landscape where intimate desires and collective sorrows intertwine. Wee wields language with a sharp, incisive grace, dissecting the very constructs of "otherness" and revealing the potent magic of survival. This collection is a fierce and dazzling exploration of marginality, nationhood, and the radical act of self-reinvention, ultimately confronting the "Beast at Every Threshold" with breathtaking honesty.

you know what? yeah. love seeing monsters and beasts within the deconstructed self image. but this was also very based in motherhood and generational trauma so if you cant connect or empathize with those—this collection wont hit for you
