Breathless

Description

In Henry Adams, Kansas, longtime matriarch Tamar July is haunted by vivid dreams of the wedding day that shattered her hopes six decades earlier—and by the mysterious great horned owl watching from her backyard. When the legitimate son of the man who once betrayed her arrives seeking a connection with Tamar’s son, Mal, she must confront the anger and pain she has carried for years. At the same time, troubled teenager Devon struggles to understand who he is beyond his losses, family history, and shifting identities. Rich with themes of forgiveness, belonging, family, and spiritual healing, this emotionally layered story explores whether the past can finally make way for renewal.
