Description
Fresh from spring, a young frog sets out when two toads—drawn by a newly awakened Shungiku flower spirit—invite him on a journey south toward warmer tropics. As the trio travels through changing seasons, the frog meets mice, cats, dogs, trees, persimmons, and other living presences, each encounter offering a small, surprising lesson about attention, growth, and belonging. Blending gentle wonder with quiet reflection, this meditative road trip explores how new experiences shape identity and how longing can become a kind of guidance. With Linnea Sterte’s lyrical, slice-of-life storytelling, the book turns everyday nature into a thoughtful meditation on time, change, and the meaning of “later on.”
