Description
In Retha, the full-submersion game that lets players live out their own hero stories, one glitch is all it takes to turn triumph into terror. When a software malfunction traps Kit—a jaded veteran player—inside the world with no way to log off, she’s forced to continue the nightmare as the game’s most defective “prank” character: an elf dancer built to fail. To survive, Kit must navigate brutal dungeons, unlikely alliances, and the thin line between strategy and desperation, guided only by a struggling party of low-level players and the occasional, guarded mercy of the aloof Solus Miles. As the quest tightens toward the ultimate villain, the story explores luck versus agency, what it means to be “broken” in a system designed to rank worth, and how courage can emerge from the least expected roles.
