Description

In the seemingly ordinary town of Castle Rock, Scott Carey finds himself grappling with an inexplicable affliction: he is steadily losing weight, yet his mass remains constant. As he navigates this bizarre physical phenomenon, Scott also becomes entangled in a peculiar dispute with his new neighbors, a lesbian couple facing prejudice as they attempt to open a local restaurant. This escalating conflict forces Scott to confront not only the town's intolerance but also his own deeply ingrained biases. Through an unlikely alliance and a community event, the story explores themes of acceptance, community, and the courage it takes to stand against injustice, even when the greatest mystery lies within oneself.
