Description

In a world where power is inherited, contested, and quietly enforced, a young protagonist is drawn into the shifting machinery of a kingdom that promises order while demanding obedience. As alliances fracture and loyalties are tested, the story follows their struggle to understand what the crown truly protects—and what it will sacrifice to keep its hold. Blending personal stakes with sweeping political tension, the novel explores themes of authority, identity, and the cost of survival in systems designed to outlast you. With Rothenberg’s sharp, propulsive storytelling and emotionally grounded character work, this is a gripping tale of resistance that asks what it means to claim agency when the rules were never written for you.
