My Sister, the Serial Killer

Description

In this darkly comic debut, Korede finds herself entangled in an increasingly dangerous secret: her younger sister Ayoola has a disturbing pattern of eliminating her boyfriends, and Korede has become her unwilling accomplice and cover-up artist. With each new body to dispose of and each close call to navigate, Korede's practical nature and quick thinking are all that stand between her sister and exposure—but her complicity comes at a cost to her own life and happiness. When a charming doctor at the hospital where Korede works captures Ayoola's attention, Korede must finally confront the uncomfortable truth about her sister's nature and decide what she's willing to do about it. Braithwaite's sharp, deadpan wit transforms this premise into a wickedly funny exploration of family loyalty, morality, and the lengths we go to protect those we love, even when they're monsters. A deliciously dark hand grenade of a novel that blends psychological thriller elements with biting satire.
