Description
Nineteen-year-old Harley Altmyer is trapped in a dead-end Pennsylvania coal town, burdened with the care of his three younger sisters after his mother's imprisonment for murder. Navigating the complexities of adolescence and adult responsibility, Harley grapples with his own desires, particularly an intense infatuation with a neighbor. As family secrets and unspoken truths surface, they threaten to shatter the fragile lives of those left behind. O'Dell's unflinching prose explores themes of love, loss, and the enduring, often complicated, bonds of family with both humor and heartbreaking honesty.
