Description
In a world grappling with existential ennui, a young man named Hanio Yamada makes a drastic decision after a failed suicide attempt: he puts his life up for sale. This provocative premise sets the stage for a surreal journey where the boundaries of reality blur, introducing elements of the supernatural and unexpected alliances. As Hanio navigates this bizarre marketplace for his own existence, the novel delves into themes of identity, mortality, and the search for meaning in a decadent modern society. Mishima's signature style, marked by its intense psychological exploration and stark aesthetic, brings this darkly philosophical narrative to life, questioning the very value we place on our lives.
