Description
Katherine Dunn's "Geek Love" plunges into the dark heart of the Binewski family, a dynasty of circus performers who deliberately breed their own unique exhibit of human oddities. From Arturo the Aquaboy with his ambitious dreams to the conjoined twins Iphy and Elly, and the albino hunchback Oly, each member is a testament to their parents' radical experiment in genetic manipulation. As this extraordinary family travels the country, their existence ignites both fervent adoration and violent hatred, forcing a confrontation with society's definitions of normal and freakish. This provocative novel is a searing exploration of family, ambition, and the blurred lines between beauty and monstrosity.
