Description

In a world where small choices can reshape a life, a pair of strangers find themselves drawn into an unexpected rhythm of companionship—one built around shared meals, quiet conversations, and the stories people carry when they think no one is listening. As their paths intersect and deepen, the narrative explores how friendship can be both refuge and catalyst, revealing the tenderness and tension that come with starting over. With Towles’s signature blend of wit, warmth, and cinematic detail, the book turns everyday moments into a larger meditation on time, belonging, and the ways we learn to live with—or change—our pasts. Perfect for readers who love character-driven storytelling and elegant, humane reflections on what it means to connect.

Loved this book! All of the stories were beautifully written but especially The Line (which I sent to everyone including my grandmother), The Bootlegger and The Didomenico Fragment.
