Description
When a wealthy Londoner is found strangled in her home just hours after planning her own funeral, disgraced detective Daniel Hawthorne takes on the case—and recruits bestselling author Anthony Horowitz as his personal chronicler. Drawn reluctantly into an investigation filled with unexpected twists, Horowitz discovers that his brilliant but temperamental partner is far more complex and secretive than he initially appears. As the two form an unlikely partnership to unravel the mystery surrounding Diana Cowper's death, the line between investigator and subject begins to blur, revealing that Hawthorne himself harbors dangerous secrets. Combining the intricate plotting of a classic whodunit with the meta-narrative of a writer caught in his own story, this novel showcases Horowitz's masterful storytelling and his ability to blur the boundaries between fiction and reality. A gripping mystery that keeps readers guessing until the final page.
