Description

When Rachel Stoltzfus becomes pregnant outside marriage, her place in her close-knit Old Order Mennonite community is threatened by rigid expectations and unforgiving judgment. Unwilling to identify the child’s father, she faces rejection from the people she has always relied on and is forced to confront life beyond the only world she has known. As danger places her unborn child at risk, buried secrets begin to surface, challenging the community’s claims of faith, loyalty, and righteousness. This emotionally charged novel explores grace, belonging, courage, and the cost of choosing truth over conformity.
