Description

In the frozen heart of the Carpathian Mountains during World War I, a young medical student named Lucius finds his romanticized notions of battlefield surgery shattered. Arriving at a remote, typhus-ravaged outpost, he discovers he is the only doctor, save for a mysterious nurse, Sister Margarete. As the brutal winter and the war outside press in, Lucius must confront his inexperience and a burgeoning, complicated attraction to the nurse. The arrival of a mysterious, unconscious soldier, bearing cryptic drawings, forces a fateful decision that will irrevocably alter the lives of all three.
