A Sunday in Ville-d'Avray
Description
In this subtly haunting novel, a married woman confesses an encounter with a mysterious man, an event that threatens the stilted calm of her life in a Paris suburb. Narrated by a young high school teacher, the story unfolds as she grapples with the implications of this confession and its ripple effects on her relationships and sense of self. Dominique Barbéris masterfully explores themes of desire, memory, and the quiet discontents that lie beneath the surface of ordinary lives, creating a narrative that is both intimate and profoundly unsettling.
