Description
In a world rapidly embracing modernity, Jack Burns remains a steadfast anachronism, a cowboy who rejects the trappings of contemporary society. He lives as a transient ranch hand, cutting down fences and refusing to carry identification or register for the draft, embodying a spirit of fierce independence. When his friend faces federal prison, Burns's own defiance of the law draws the attention of authorities, forcing him to flee into the wilderness. His journey leads him to a remote ranch, where he finds solace and a connection to the land, only to witness its destruction by encroaching development, exploring themes of freedom, societal conformity, and the vanishing American West.
