Description
In a land where tradition dictates who can and cannot grow facial hair, a Dalit man named Vavachan finds himself transformed by the role of a policeman with an imposing moustache. His performance, though brief and silent, ignites fear and awe in his audience, resurrecting ancient anxieties and elevating him to a figure of mythic power. This novel masterfully weaves together magic, folklore, and social commentary, exploring themes of caste, identity, and resistance through the legend of Vavachan's extraordinary moustache. Set against the unique ecological backdrop of Kuttanad, Kerala, the story delves into the intricate interplay of power, politics, and the natural world, creating a tale of profound and enduring resonance.
