Description
In her twenties, Edie navigates a life of precarious independence, grappling with a dead-end job, questionable choices, and the simmering art within her. Her world shifts when she meets Eric, a digital archivist whose wife has agreed to an open marriage. Unexpectedly finding herself living in their home, Edie becomes an unlikely confidante to Eric's wife and a crucial role model for his adopted daughter, the only young Black girl the child knows. This novel is a sharp, funny, and poignant exploration of a young woman's search for self amidst the complexities of race, sexuality, and artistic ambition in a turbulent era.
