Description
A frustrated creative-writing professor at a small college finds his stagnant life upended when an exceptionally talented and alluring student enters his classroom. As admiration gives way to obsession, he becomes entangled in a dangerous student-teacher affair that threatens his marriage, career, and sense of self. Through sharp satire and dark humor, the novel explores power, desire, artistic ambition, and the often-blurred boundaries between inspiration and exploitation. It is a provocative examination of academic culture and the stories people tell themselves to justify their choices.
