Description
A provocative, darkly comic satire of Hollywood, gender, and identity, this paired edition follows the audacious Myra Breckinridge as she pursues stardom through seduction, manipulation, and an uncompromising belief in her own destiny. At a drama and modeling academy, Myra turns lessons in performance and self-presentation into opportunities to expose—and reshape—the desires of those around her. In the sequel, the story takes an even more surreal turn as Myra’s ambitions collide with the seemingly ordinary life of Myron, creating a battle over body, memory, and control. With its sharp wit and flamboyant style, the book challenges the conventions of celebrity culture, sexuality, and cinematic fantasy.
