Description

In a community where small-town routines can hide big secrets, a series of unsettling events forces an ordinary life to unravel. As tensions rise and old wounds resurface, the story follows characters navigating grief, loyalty, and the complicated pull of truth—questioning what people owe one another when the past refuses to stay buried. With Morgan Talty’s sharp, humane storytelling, the novel blends intimate character work with a suspenseful forward momentum, drawing readers into a world shaped by memory and consequence. Themes of family, moral responsibility, and the fragile boundaries between safety and danger pulse beneath every turn, making this a gripping, emotionally resonant read.

the beginning was so much plotlessness in best way, truly a book about nothing. until it wasn’t. in that last 11% it all the sudden came to me that this was just an even more depressing great gatsby with 100x less money and more unreasonable crash outs. genuinely who could have guessed that the book suddenly getting an active plot would ruin it for me???
