Description

In the aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars, Viola Carroll—thought dead after Waterloo—finds a rare chance to live openly as herself. Two years later, Justin, the Duke of Gracewood, is still haunted by grief and guilt, unable to move past the friend he believes he failed to save. When their paths converge, a carefully guarded connection begins to form, forcing both of them to confront the stories they’ve been trapped inside and the cost of survival. Blending romance with themes of identity, trauma, and chosen family, this emotionally charged novel from Alexis Hall delivers sharp wit, tender intimacy, and a hopeful reckoning with what it means to be seen.
