Description
A young Egyptian-Sudanese man, known for his innocence and piety, dreams of a simple life marrying a Nubian girl while working as a tour guide in Luxor and Aswan. His peaceful existence is shattered after an encounter with Osama bin Laden in Sudan during the early 1990s, propelling him into an unexpected and perilous journey. The narrative sweeps the reader from Egypt to the Gulf, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and finally Guantanamo Bay, chronicling the protagonist's dramatic transformation and struggle for survival. Through lyrical prose that blurs the lines between reality and imagination, the novel offers a profound exploration of the human psyche and the complexities of the world.
