Description
A silver-van drifter named Satoru finds a stray cat curled up on his bonnet and, at first, simply feeds her and enjoys the quiet companionship. When he learns she’s been hurt, he brings her to the vet and—against his own plans—begins a tender, open-ended journey to find her a new owner. As Satoru travels through Japan, each stop reveals a different kind of loneliness and a different definition of “home,” turning a seemingly simple rehoming mission into a series of heartfelt encounters. Hiro Arikawa’s gentle, observational style blends warmth with melancholy, exploring themes of grief, second chances, and the bonds we form when we choose to care.
