Description
In a Vancouver morning unlike any other, dawn arrives and nearly everyone has been awake all night—except for a rare few who slipped into the same impossible golden dream. As the city’s routines fracture under the weight of this shared experience, the story follows how ordinary lives collide with the unsettling question of what, exactly, has changed and why some people can still “sleep.” Blending speculative wonder with intimate character focus, the novel explores memory, connection, and the fragile boundaries between perception and reality. With Adrian Barnes’s distinctive, lyrical storytelling, the book turns a small-scale mystery into a haunting meditation on fate, longing, and the human need to make meaning from the unexplainable.

idk man probably the most original concept ive ever read. but a shocking use of a racial slur by the coherent mentally stable narrator AND repeated fatphobia were a disappointment. what purpose to the plot did it serve to have the narrator, or you the author, use a racial slur and fatphobia?
