Description
In a Tehran shrouded by revolution, a former university professor gathers seven young women for a secret literary salon, meeting each Thursday to explore forbidden Western novels. Through their discussions of classics like *Pride and Prejudice* and *Lolita*, these women find a space to reclaim their voices and share their own hidden dreams and disappointments. This powerful memoir weaves together the personal narratives of these women with Nafisi's own experiences navigating the increasingly restrictive Islamic Republic. It is a profound testament to the enduring power of literature to offer solace, spark rebellion, and illuminate the complexities of life under oppressive regimes.
