Barrister Geoffrey Mason divides his time between the courtroom and the racetrack, where he rides Thoroughbreds in the demanding world of amateur steeplechasing. When a fellow jockey is brutally murdered, suspicion falls on champion rider Steve Mitchell, and Mason is drawn into a dangerous investigation that reaches from the racing stables to the legal system. As he works to uncover the truth, he confronts hidden rivalries, powerful motives, and the perilous overlap between justice and loyalty. Combining authentic racing detail with tight plotting and escalating suspense, this thriller explores ambition, integrity, and the price of seeking justice.
