Description

As World War II looms, a young boy named Willie Beech, escaping the harsh realities of London and an abusive mother, is evacuated to the idyllic English countryside. Initially fearful of his new surroundings and the gruff but kind recluse, Mr. Tom, Willie slowly begins to shed the trauma of his past. Under Mr. Tom's gentle guidance, Willie discovers the joys of friendship, nature, and unconditional affection, blossoming into a confident and happy child. However, a summons back to London shatters this newfound peace, forcing Mr. Tom to embark on a desperate journey to rescue the boy he has come to cherish as his own.
