Description
Eleven-year-old Johnny Laxatayl would rather retreat to the basement with his beloved bottle-cap collection than attend dance class or satisfy his parents’ demands to grow up. But when he meets Valerie, a fellow dance-class resister, Johnny discovers an unexpected ally—and a new way to challenge the expectations of the adults around him. With sly humor and a mischievous spirit, this lively children’s novel explores independence, friendship, growing up, and the delight of spending money on wonderfully impractical things.
