Unholy with Eyes Like Wolves

Description

In early 17th-century Hungary, Noémie—dishonored and widowed after unimaginable loss—clings to one last path to survival and restored honor: serving Lady Erzsébet Báthory as her handmaiden. As the castle’s rigid piety curdles into secrecy, Noémie is drawn into a slow-burning, forbidden sapphic bond while unsettling disappearances and deaths suggest something predatory is moving through the halls. When dreams of a mysterious woman begin to blur the line between devotion and danger, Noémie must decide what she’s willing to become to escape religious subjugation and reclaim agency. Blending gothic atmosphere, vampire lore, and horror romance’s intoxicating transgression, this blood-soaked retelling channels the decadent, lyrical intensity Morgan Dante is known for—where salvation is never clean, and love can be its own kind of unholy power.
