Description
William Trevor masterfully crafts a haunting narrative in *Felicia's Journey*, following an eighteen-year-old Irish girl as she travels to the English Midlands in search of the father of her unborn child. Her quest leads her to the seemingly benevolent Mr. Hilditch, a man whose own hidden darkness casts a long shadow over her hopeful pursuit. As their paths intertwine, the novel explores themes of vulnerability, manipulation, and the desperate search for belonging against a backdrop of bleak landscapes and uncertain futures. Trevor's signature prose creates a suspenseful and deeply psychological portrait of two individuals on a collision course, revealing the profound consequences of secrets and the fragility of human connection.
