Description
When former child star Posy Starling arrives to film her dream role as Dahlia Lively in *The Lady Detective*, the set should be all glamour and misdirection—until a prop weapon is swapped for the real thing and a fellow actress is left fighting for her life. With the production thrown into chaos and the evidence beginning to point toward a suspicious co-star, Posy and her two fellow Dahlias—Rosalind King and the rest of the trio—turn every break between scenes into an opportunity to investigate. But before they can uncover the truth, a murder strikes, and with storms, flooding, and a washed-out bridge cutting off help, the women must solve the case themselves before the killer strikes again. Blending a classic whodunit structure with playful, Golden Age–style wit and modern pacing, this lively mystery explores performance, reputation, and the thin line between entertainment and danger.
