Description
When all contact is lost with two Icelanders working in the brutal isolation of Greenland’s coast, Thóra is brought in to investigate a disappearance that quickly turns into a pattern. As a woman employee vanishes and, months later, two drilling engineers disappear as well, Thóra must navigate a landscape where distance, silence, and fear erode trust at every turn. With mounting pressure from those who want answers—and those who want them buried—she uncovers unsettling truths about what happens when people are cut off from the world and forced to rely on one another. Blending chilling suspense with a sharp focus on human psychology, the novel showcases Yrsa Sigurðardóttir’s signature talent for building dread through atmosphere, procedure, and moral ambiguity.
