Description

Seventeen years after the unsolved murder of her older sister, Kim Hae-on, Da-on remains consumed by the tragedy that shattered her family and stalled her own life. The crime, dubbed the High School Beauty Murder, captivated Korea in 2002, with two suspects—a wealthy student and a delivery boy—ultimately cleared due to lack of evidence. Now, Da-on embarks on a relentless quest to uncover the truth, delving into the past and the lingering questions that continue to haunt everyone connected to Hae-on. Through shifting perspectives, this novel masterfully uses the framework of a crime story to explore profound themes of privilege, jealousy, and the enduring impact of trauma, questioning how we cope with both the wrongs we suffer and those we inflict.
