Description

In this poignant novel, a young woman named April finds herself adrift, moving from town to town and job to job, carrying the weight of a past she can't outrun. Her solitary existence is disrupted when she takes a job at a small-town diner, where the regulars begin to chip away at her carefully constructed walls. As she tentatively forms connections, April grapples with the fear of intimacy and the possibility of building a life rooted in belonging, rather than just survival. This is a story about the unexpected places we find family and the courage it takes to let people in.
