Description
Milo Neal is determined to win first prize at the science fair with a project demonstrating the food chain—featuring a baby chicken he fully intends to cook when the experiment is over. But when his classmates name the chick Henrietta, fall in love with her, and adopt her as the hockey team mascot, Milo’s carefully ordered plans take a hilarious turn. As mishaps multiply, he must choose between scientific ambition and the unexpected bonds he has formed with his classmates and their feathered star. Filled with Gordon Korman’s trademark humor and fast-paced schoolroom chaos, this entertaining story explores friendship, responsibility, and the surprises that come with caring for another living creature.
