Description

In 1976 Syracuse, a city shaped by its vanished salt industry, photographer Mark Cornell witnesses a woman plunge from a sixth-floor window while carrying out a routine surveillance job for a divorce lawyer. The apparent suicide becomes something far more troubling when Mark discovers that the woman’s name belongs to someone who died months earlier. Without modern technology to guide him, Mark must pursue answers face-to-face, navigating grief, deception, and the uneasy overlap between private investigation and criminal enterprise. Set against the gritty landscape of upstate New York, this atmospheric mystery explores the dangers of curiosity and the cost of stepping beyond the boundaries of an ordinary job.
