Description
In a near-future world grappling with overpopulation and societal unrest, a renowned futurologist attends a clandestine congress in Costa Rica, hoping to find solutions. However, the event quickly devolves into a surreal and nightmarish landscape as the protagonist is plunged into a series of chemically induced hallucinations. This darkly satirical novel explores themes of perception, reality, and the often absurd nature of human endeavors to control its own destiny. Lem masterfully blends scientific speculation with biting social commentary, creating a thought-provoking and unsettling experience.
