Description
On Dead Wednesday, every eighth grader in Amber Springs is assigned the identity of a teenager who died a preventable death—and expected to spend the day living as that person. Worm Tarnauer, an awkward boy who has spent most of eighth grade hiding behind his nickname, is paired with a vibrant teen whose life challenges everything he believes about himself. As Worm is drawn into an unexpected journey of empathy, courage, and self-discovery, he begins to see the possibility of stepping out of the shadows. With humor and heart, the novel explores grief, identity, compassion, and the difficult—but transformative—journey toward becoming yourself.
