Description
In a world where appetite can feel like a force of nature, this novel follows characters drawn to what they want most—and to what they fear they might become in pursuit of it. As hunger takes on emotional, social, and psychological dimensions, the story traces how desire shapes relationships, choices, and the quiet compromises people make to survive. With sharp insight and lyrical intensity, the book explores themes of longing, power, class, and the ways people learn to perform need. Jihyun Yun’s distinctive, character-driven style turns everyday moments into charged encounters, offering a compelling look at what it means to want, to take, and to be taken.

the poems in this collection centered on food and the diaspora were breathtaking. the rest of the collection is very viscerally and graphically focused on sexual assault and rape. so keep that in mind if you’re considering reading this.
